Project description

NR assisted the Norwegian eVote 2011 project in usability and accessibility as well as technical issues. NR carried out user testing, technical accessibility testing and evaluation of a selection of prototypes from various suppliers. All testing results were documented, and we recommended updates in the usability and accessibility requirements.

The objective of eVote 2011 project was to develop a secure and accessible Internet voting service. According to the roadmap, a pilot service is going to run during the 2011 Municipalicy and County elections.

The project is under the direction of The Department of Local Government (KOMM) of The Ministry of Local Government and Regional Development (KRD) in Norway.

NR's contribution
NR carries out all testing concerning
  • accessibility,
  • usability, and
  • standard conformance.
Benefit for customer
We shared our knowledge concerning accessibility and usability in ICT solutions to help make the right decision when it comes to buying a particular solution/product. The technology suppliers were handed out a detailed report with our findings, which helped them to gain more knowledge in the respective areas and assisted in the improvement of their products.
Benefit for society
Our aim was to contribute to the development of solutions that make ICT products and services usable and accessible to all members of the society. This is especially important when it comes to services for democratic activities.
