The centre works on issues related to climate change, digitalisation, electrification and civil protection, and develops methods for risk assessment, stress testing and decision support. The Norwegian Computing Center contributes in particular with research on digital infrastructure, security and data analysis. This is the core question in ResiTrans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The centre will generate new knowledge, methods and strategies to support a more resilient and sustainable transport sector. It also contributes to national goals for climate adaptation, public safety and sustainable infrastructure, while fostering international collaboration and knowledge exchange.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Identifying vulnerabilities and developing solutions<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Resilient infrastructure is not only crucial for mobility and accessibility, but also for national preparedness and industrial competitiveness. Vulnerabilities linked to extreme weather, cyberattacks or power shortages can have wide-ranging societal consequences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>ResiTrans addresses these challenges by identifying and managing vulnerabilities related to climate change, technology and electrification. Our work will improve risk assessment, planning for uncertainty and support the implementation of effective measures. The centre develops practical tools, strategies and guidelines designed to create safer, more reliable and efficient transport networks.<\/p>\n\n\n\t<div class=\"nr-spacer nr-spacer-small wp-block-nr-spacer\">\n\t<\/div>\n\t\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Work areas in ResiTrans<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The centre advances new methods for risk assessment, stress testing and decision support, and contributes to knowledge-building in climate adaptation and public safety. Central topics include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Natural hazards<br>Identifying climate-related threats to roads, railway, marine transport and the energy grid.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Digitalisation and cybersecurity<br>Developing strategies to address vulnerabilities linked to digitalisation and technological dependence.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Electrification and energy resilience<br>Assessing risks associated with increased electrification and reliance on the power grid.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Monitoring and maintenance<br>Applying data-driven solutions for real-time monitoring and predictive maintenance.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Stress testing and contingency planning<br>Developing tools and guidelines for efficient recovery after operational disruptions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>NR is particularly engaged in digital infrastructure, security and data analysis and leads the work package&nbsp;<em>Addressing digitalisation and cybersecurity in the transport infrastructure<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\t<div class=\"nr-spacer nr-spacer-small wp-block-nr-spacer\">\n\t<\/div>\n\t\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A broad collaboration for critical infrastructure<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>ResiTrans is led by the Norwegian Geotechnical Institute (NGI) and brings together leading research communities in climate, energy, transport and technology.
