Sammendrag Respons Analyse gjennomførte undersøkelsen «Barometer for synslikestiling» for Norges Blindeforbund i 2023. Resultatene fra undersøkelsen er beskrevet i rapporten “Norges Blindeforbund: Likestillingsbarometeret 2023.” Forskningsprosjektet i 2025 bygger på dette arbeidet. Denne rapporten presenterer resultatene fra forskningsprosjektet om videreutvikling av barometer for synslikestilling, i det følgende kalt Synsbarometeret. Forskningsprosjektets mål har vært å undersøke hvordan styrke kvaliteten og representativiteten til Synsbarometeret, slik at det kan brukes som en pålitelig kilde til informasjon for myndigheter og fagmiljøer. Arbeidet har omfattet en gjennomgang av det tidligere spørreskjemaet og forslag til endringer for den nye telefon-undersøkelsen som ble gjennomført våren 2025. I tillegg ble det testet en SMS-undersøkelse for å nå yngre aldersgrupper, en aldersgruppe som har lav «respons rate» (deltakelsesprosent) på telefonunderundersøkelser. I forsknings-prosjektet har vi også vurdert bruk av registerdata til vekting, i rekruttering til undersøkelsen, til å redusere antall spørsmål i undersøkelsen, og for å gjøre undersøkelsen mer sammenlignbar med nasjonale levekårsundersøkelser. Det langsiktige målet er et Synsbarometer med høy metodisk kvalitet, som kombinerer innsamlet informasjon fra synshemmede med relevante registerdata, samtidig som det tar hensyn til utfordringer knyttet til representativitet og skjevheter i utvalget. Vår anbefaling for Synsbarometeret 2027 er å søke SSB om å få bruke registerdata. Formålet er å bruke registerdata til uttrekket til undersøkelsen, og til analyser og postvekting etter at undersøkelsen er gjennomført.

Marine biofouling on a ship's hull and propeller increases the resistance of the ship moving through water and reduces the propulsion efficiency of the ship. Estimating the effect of fouling is difficult, as the biomass is rarely measured. In this paper, we present a new data-driven model for the total shaft power use of a large containership, in order to estimate the unobserved effect of fouling. Due to the limitations of both physical models and machine learning models, we develop a Bayesian generalized additive model for our purpose. We discuss issues of representative training data for the model. Further, we subset and subsample the data to a representative sample. Models are compared by out-of-sample predictive quality, physical appropriateness, and through autocorrelation of residuals. The Bayesian generalized additive model combined with computational inference using integrated nested Laplace approximations gives a robust estimate of the biofouling effect over time. It also allows a decomposition of the total shaft power use into effects of speed, weather, and other conditions. This model can be used to understand the effectiveness and timing of different hull and propeller treatments.

Understanding the spreading process of new products provides valuable knowledge that can be used for effective marketing. The ability to make early prediction of success or failure is a great advantage in innovation processes. Extending current literature in a novel way, we propose a data-driven agent-based methodology that accomplishes this task. Inference and predictions are based on short-time observations of the product adoption history and knowledge of the social network of consumers. We model and predict adoptions at the agent level as driven by unobserved peer-to-peer influence and external factors such as marketing. The method compares interaction between consumers and general campaigns, and quantifies the importance of characteristics of customers and their social relations. Our computationally efficient method is demonstrated by analyzing real data, predicting the process far into the future using data from a short period after launch, and validated by simulation experiments on a true full-scale communication network.

Vipps is a peer-to-peer mobile payment solution launched by Norway’s largest financial services group DNB. The Vipps transaction data may be viewed as a graph with users corresponding to the nodes, and the financial transactions between the users defining the edges. We have followed the evolution of this graph from May 2015 to September 2016. This is a unique data set, as information about transactions of individuals is usually not available for research. In this paper, we use an advanced statistical model where preferential attachment is combined with fitness. We show that the intrinsic quality of the nodes in the Vipps network plays an important part in the evolution of the network. This insight may, e.g., be used to identify influential nodes for viral marketing.

The Norwegian Computing Center and the Institute of Marine Research have over years developed a Bayesian hierarchical model to estimate the catch-at-age of fish. Such a model enables us to obtain estimates of the catch-at-age with appropriate uncertainty. This is considered as essential input in most age structured stock assessment processes. Recent improvements of the model include modelling a haulsize effect in the proportionat-age model. The model is implemented in C with an R interface. This note gives a thorough description of the model and the simulation algorithm corresponding to version 4.0 of the program.

This has been extended to model multiple stocks, like Atlantic Cod and Coastal Cod. This note presents the multiple stock model, which includes both age reading error and classification error.

The Norwegian Computing Center and the Institute of Marine Research have over years developed a Bayesian hierarchical model to estimate the catch-at-age of fish. The model is implemented in C with an R interface. This note gives a thorough description of the model and the simulation algorithm corresponding to version 2.0 of the program.
