About NR

Norwegian Computing Center (NR) is an independent, non-profit foundation that carries out contract research for businesses, the public sector and organisations in Norway and internationally.

Our research area are statistical modelling, machine learning and information and communications technology (ICT).

NR is home to one of Europe’s largest research groups in applied statistical modelling. Our researchers work in areas including finance and insurance, Earth observation, climate and the environment, health, public administration, image analysis and and natural resources. Within ICT, our work includes digital security, universal design and digital transformation.  

NR has just under 100 employees, and most of our researchers hold a doctorate. 

We are based in Kristen Nygaards hus on the University of Oslo campus.
